How to Fit a Helmet

Helmets must fit properly to be effective.

  1. A helmet should sit level on the top of the head, NOT tilted forward or back, about 2 finger widths above the eyebrows.

  2. The helmet should not be able to move back and forth or from side to side. Use the dial at the back of the helmet to achieve the perfect fit.

  3. The straps should straddle the ears to keep the helmet secure on the head in the event of a fall.

  4. The chin strap should be buckled with room for 2 fingers between the strap and the chin.

Take the helmet test below to make sure your helmet fits properly.
